80′s Movie Posters

In my early teens I worked in my local video shop which was pretty much heaven for me… rows and rows of rapidly degrading VHS that I could rent free of charge and all the old trade magazines I could possibly carry home. I recently cleared out many of those trade magazines as there was no space to store them, but I saved and scanned in all the posters for the sake of posterity.

And here they are, in all their ripped and faded glory. 68 direct to video movie posters for films you’ll have barely heard of let alone seen. Within this small corner of the web lays abandoned art, a subgenre that has been truly forgotten. One day the disproportioned illustrated cover will come back into vogue, and then we’ll see who the real artists of the world are.

Don’t forget to have a look at the 80′s video sleeve collection as well.
